Botox

For over 20 years, Botox® has been a safe and effective treatment for reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Those worried about the overdone look have no fear. Dr. Coville is an experienced physician who knows how to give you natural but stunning results.

Results of Botox®

As you age, your skin does not snap back like it did in your youth. Botox® limits the contractions of problematic facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles. Made of botulinum toxin type A, Botox® acts as a muscle relaxant, temporarily blocking the signals between the nerves and the muscles. The small doses make it effective and safe.

You’ll see a gradual disappearance of crow’s feet around the eyes, glabellar lines (also known as 11s), and horizontal lines on the forehead. Results may take 3-7 days to appear. It takes time for the product to set in and start working. As your muscles relax, your wrinkles will, too.

Dr. Coville is a skilled physician, well recognized for his natural but stunning results. With the low dosages that Dr. Coville uses, you do not have to worry about a surprised or overdone look often associated with Botox®. You are in good hands.

How Long Do the Results of Botox® Last?

How long the results of Botox® last varies between patients. On average, most people see results for 3-4 months. Maintenance treatments may be needed 2-3 times a year to keep your youthful complexion.

If you do continuous treatments, you may see results lasting longer. The over-used muscles slowly soften over time and are trained not to contract, meaning you may be able to go longer between appointments. Many people notice they need fewer Botox® treatments over time.

Recovery from Botox® Treatments

There is no downtime with Botox®. You may have some bruising at your injection site immediately after your appointment. Swelling and redness, however, will resolve within a few hours. You’ll be able to cover any redness with makeup immediately after your treatment.

It is best to avoid heavy workouts for 24 hours after your appointment. If you are taking aspirin or NSAIDs, it is best to stop taking them before your Botox® treatment as it can lead to heavier bruising.
