WHAT IS VOTIVA?

Votiva is a simple, painless method to achieve vaginal rejuvenation. The treatment is safe, non-surgical, and provides results for women suffering from vaginal laxity, dryness, painful intercourse, and more.

A Votiva treatment is performed using two devices, Forma V and Morpheus 8. These handheld devices emit radiofrequency waves to increase the temperature in and around the vagina. While Forma V treats tissue inside and outside the vaginal canal using gentle heat, Morpheus 8 resurfaces and tightens the skin on and around the labia majora. The process increases blood flow and stimulates the production of new, healthier, tighter collagen, resulting in reduced dryness and improved vaginal elasticity and tightness.

WHAT IS VOTIVA TREATMENT LIKE?

Votiva is a low-maintenance treatment that takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Patients will feel a slight pressure on their vaginal walls combined with a warm sensation. Although there is no pain involved in this treatment, a numbing agent can be applied outside the vaginal area for extra comfort. Cornerstone Plastic Surgery performs Votiva treatments safely, efficiently, and in accordance with FDA parameters.

While preparation for Votiva is limited, patients should:

  • Refrain from sexual intercourse 24 hours before their treatment
  • Be certain you have no active vaginal infections or inflammation
  • Stop any intake of NSAIDs for at least 3 days before treatment
  • Schedule the treatment so it doesn’t fall during their menstrual cycle
  • Remove any hair from the area to be treated

Dr. Coville also recommends that you meet with your gynecologist before undergoing treatment and share any relevant medical history with our providers. After a proper assessment, Cornerstone will provide you with medication to be taken prior to the procedure to avoid potential breakouts.

Who Will Be Performing My Votiva Treatment?

Are There Any Potential Risks Or Complications?

Does Insurance Cover Votiva?

Votiva is typically regarded as an elective procedure and therefore not covered by insurance. However, if you are using Votiva to treat a diagnosed medical condition, such as stress urinary incontinence, your insurance provider may cover a portion of the cost.

Yes. Votiva will not impair your ability to conceive or give birth vaginally.

Can I Request A Female To Give Me My Treatment?

Yes, the staff at Cornerstone Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine is largely composed of women. Cornerstone can provide you with a trained female technician to ensure you are at ease during your treatments.

How Much Does Votiva Cost?

The cost of Votiva treatments varies depending on the specific needs of the patient. After an assessment, Dr. Coville and his team will create a plan best suited to each individual’s situation and review any financial questions, including financing options, before beginning treatment.

FAQ

After the procedure has been completed, women can resume their daily lives unimpeded. However, it is best to avoid potential irritants by refraining from intercourse and forgoing the use of hot tubs, baths, or pools for at least 3 days post-treatment.

Desired results can be seen—and felt—after just one treatment. The outcomes will be catered to your specific needs, but patients generally experience increased comfort in the vaginal area.

This typically includes tightening of the vaginal canal and labia, reduced vaginal dryness, fewer incidents of urinary stress incontinence, and painless intercourse.

While there is some variation among patients, results typically last several months. For best results, 3 initial treatments over 4-6 months are recommended. Results last for many months afterward—however, they will eventually fade with time. One treatment each year thereafter will maintain results.
