How Is a Butt Lift Done?

Like a Brazillian Butt Lift, the Jersey Shore Butt Lift™ uses the fat from unwanted areas, such as the abdomen or thighs, to create a more sculpted figure. Unlike a Brazillian Butt Lift, Dr. Coville’s Jersey Shore Butt Lift™ takes into account the individual’s unique proportions and desired body type, often striving for a natural-looking and athletic appearance.

How is a Butt Lift Done?

Before your procedure, our Cornerstone Plastic Surgery team will administer general or local anesthesia to ensure your comfort, depending on the amount of fat transferred. 

Dr. Coville uses gentle liposuction to harvest the fat to lessen bruising and make recovery easier. If you have more significant amounts of fat for removal, he may use Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL). The most common liposuction sites are the abdomen and thighs. 

After liposuction, Dr. Coville purifies the fat for injection. He then injects it into predetermined areas in the glutes. Dr. Coville’s methods ensure the use of the best donor cells and a smooth, natural result. The donor fat cells are often rich in stem cells that firm and smooth the skin. 

In some cases, Dr. Coville uses PRP to help the fat adapt to its new location. This technique is unique to Cornerstone in the South Jersey Shore region, making his expert procedure more exclusive. 

What is an Ultrasound-guided Butt Lift?

Dr. Coville always employs the latest and safe methods to ensure your result is state-of-the-art. Dr. Coville uses a device similar to the ultrasound used to visualize a baby in the uterus. Using this device, he can carefully guide the cannula used to introduce the fat into your buttocks in an exceptionally safe way. This dramatically reduces the procedure’s risk and helps Dr. Coville give you the most pleasing result possible.

How Long is Recovery from a Butt Lift?

The pain from a butt lift is minimal and easily controlled through pain medications. You may be required to avoid sitting or laying on the buttocks for two weeks; however, most patients return to light activities within a week. Please follow Dr. Coville’s instructions to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery. 

Am I a Good Candidate for a Butt Lift?

The best candidates are nonsmokers with reasonable expectations. If you do not have enough body fat to transfer to your buttocks, you cannot receive a Jersey Shore Butt Lift™. During recovery, you may not be able to sit for several weeks. If you cannot commit to the recovery process, you may not be a good candidate for a butt lift.

Dr. Coville also offers injectable treatments for a different approach to buttock augmentation for those without enough fat or who don’t want the downtime with the surgical approach. He typically recommends fat transfer as it creates more natural results.
